Mindset Shift

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 3 min read

“and looking closely at it, I saw all kinds of the four-footed animals of the earth and the wild beasts and the crawling creatures and the birds of the air [both clean and unclean according to the Law], and I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; kill and eat.’ But I said, ‘Not at all, Lord; for nothing common (unholy) or [ceremonially] unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ But the voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What God has cleansed and pronounced clean, no longer consider common (unholy).’”
Acts 11v6-9

The apostle Peter was on the roof top praying and waiting to eat his lunch. He had been ministering to people and was now residing in the home of one of the disciples in Joppa. While he was praying God gave him a vision. A vision of animals that were not considered clean to the Jews to eat. This was the time God was opening the doors to the gentiles to experience Salvation. The animals in the vision represented the diversity of people God would call and give access to salvation and the Kingdom of God. At this point, only the Jews had heard the message of the gospel. Peter had only interacted with the Jews. The gentiles were considered unclean. Hence Peter was resistant. God had to say to him, that he could not call unclean what God had called clean. This was a mindset change for Peter. The vision was sent to challenge the mindset of Peter. God wanted him to see the gentiles as people who were also worthy of receiving salvation.

I want to bring to your attention here as well that you and I are constantly being challenged for our mindset to be changed so we can live this life of double grace and increased grace. You may have grown up poor, never having enough or even lived in a decent home. When you get saved, you now hear the word that God has made you prosperous and sickness and disease free. You hear that you have favour and the grace of God has made you as if you have never sinned. It would sound ridiculous when you first hear it. You think, “you mean me? Can I really live a successful life”? Yes, you. You are blessed and empowered to prosper. The anointing and blessing on your life attracts wealth and increase. Receive it now.

You will meet many people in your walk with God but because of your feelings of inferiority, you avoid successful people, because you feel you are not good enough. It’s time for a mindset change. The holy Spirit is telling you, change the way you think about yourself. You are the object of God’s favour. You are anointed for success and victory. You are special to God. Embrace this God kind of life. Embrace who you are in Christ. Accept good success, health and healing and victory in Jesus name. Do not be limited by your thoughts, you are a son/daughter of the Most High God.
