We Do Not Wrestle Against Flesh and Blood

“She followed after Paul and us and kept screaming and shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God! They are proclaiming to you the way of salvation!” She continued doing this for several days. Then Paul, being greatly annoyed and worn out, turned and said to the spirit [inside her], “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ [as His representative] to come out of her!” And it came out at that very moment.”
Paul and Silas were ministering in the city and many people were being touched. Here was this girl following them saying they were servants of the Most High God. In our day it would sound like a good thing, good advertising for Paul. However, Paul was no ordinary man and he was not moved by this advert. He knew exactly what he was dealing with. He was not wrestling with flesh and blood but a demon that had possessed this girl. She was being used by these powers to distract them and agitate the people who were coming to listen to the gospel. Paul could ignore her or cast out the demon. He cast out the demon.
We faced many situations everyday of our lives. Have you ever wondered if the thing you are dealing with, comes from the devil himself to distract you and keep from your call. Recognise the strategies of the devil. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and give you power to cast out the devil so you can be free to be all God has called you to be. Once you recognize the works of darkness, address them in the name of Jesus and command them to leave and they will have no choice but to leave. Division and dissention in your home, too, can be dealt with in the same way. It cannot be in your home. You recognize the spirit? Cast it out in the name of Jesus. Like Jesus spoke to the storm, speak to the storm troubling your home. You are anointed and you have authority to cast out demons. Speak! You are not dealing with flesh and blood but principalities and powers and rulers of darkness, they are subject to you.
