Walking Boldly Into the Unknown

“Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:”
Abraham was given an instruction by God, “get out of your country and go to a land that I will show you”. There was no clear directions given, there was no indication as to how long the journey would take nor was he told what to take a long with him to make the journey easier. Abraham obeyed. Just like that. He heard the voice of God and he listened. He was given the title of “the father of faith”.
In our modern day, when we are given an instruction, it generally comes with a detailed plan, we use the GPS to get clear directions. We have some idea of the kind of roads we will be travelling on, actually we can even ask for the fastest route. These are natural means, we humans would use. In the realm of the supernatural. In our walk with God, life does not work like that. If you are given a prophecy and told what you are called to do, no details of what the exact calling would entail is given. There is no time limit given. You have to walk by faith. It is really the unknown. It is a life of absolute faith. You have to trust and believe God and believe in his promises. Without faith, you cannot please God.
You are given the word of God, you are given the name of Jesus, you are given the blood of Jesus, you are given a measure of faith and the Holy Spirit sheds his love abroad your heart so you can walk the love walk. He does however send you a helper, a comforter, a standby, a guide, an intercessor and an advocate, the Holy Spirit. With this in hand, your life is set to go on a journey of faith in to the unknown. Abraham was promised that he would be blessed. We too are blessed, we are empowered to prosper. We are the object of God’s favour. We are not told what the challenges would be, but we are told we are more than conquerors. We are told we are overcomers in this life.
So, family of God, embark on this journey of the unknown, invite the Holy Spirit on the journey and I guarantee you, God will be with you and for you and despite the challenges, there will be glorious times on this journey.
