Embrace the Blessing

“And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me. And he said, Thou hast asked a hard thing: nevertheless, if thou see me when I am taken from thee, it shall be so unto thee; but if not, it shall not be so. And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”
Elijah was about to go and be with the Lord and he looked at Elisha and asked what he wanted from him before he left. Elijah was so acquainted with the anointing and comfortable with the blessing of God that he knew it was time for a transfer of this same anointing and blessing onto Elisha so the work of the Lord could continue. Elisha was ready with his request as he had seen the miracles done by Elijah. He made a demand on the ability of God and demanded a double portion of the anointing and power on Elijah’s life. There was a condition, he had to be alert and postured to receive what he had asked.
Elisha was ready and he observed Elisha being taken up into heave. Immediately that Elijah was taken away, Elisha took the mantle of Elijah and struck the waters. Upon striking the water, the waters parted. Elisha had embraced the anointing and continued to walk in the anointing doing twice as much miracles as Elijah.
Family of God, we are anointed, we have the spirit of God living on the inside of us, actually we have the spirit without measure, not just the double portion. We have Jesus, so whatever we ask in the name of Jesus, He will do it for us. We have more than a double portion of the blessing, we have grace upon grace. We are blessed beyond measure. Let us go forward and do the work of the ministry. You are blessed to be a blessing. Embrace the anointing and do great and mighty things.
