Sacrificing your Pleasure

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
2Corinthians 5v6-8

Paul loved the Lord passionately and loved His people very much. His greatest desire was to be with the Lord. The pressures of life and the persecution was so severe that he desired rather to go on to be with the Lord but he realized his mission was not complete so he chose rather to remain here to minister to God’s people. The ministry of the gospel to God’s people was more needful so he chose to remain. He sacrificed the joy of going on to be with the Lord for the needs of God’s people. It was not an easy choice, but the will of the Father was what Paul sought.

Family of God, we need to be mission minded, we need to be mindful of the will of God for our lives. Our day to day life must be so integrated with the will of God for our lives that his bidding has to be first place in our lives. We have to allow the Holy Spirit to work in us so the ways of the Father take a hold of our lives.

Should you want good success and victory in this life, seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. You will profit in your way as you walk in the ways of the Lord and heed his voice. I am not asking you to live life like a monk or nun, no, let your life interface with the God life every moment of everyday, in your work place, in the market place, in your home and in every relationship. In this way, you will be so Godly minded that you will add tremendous value in every area of your life and in the environment you are involved in. Lives will be changed because of the wealth of your presence.
