Identify Talent in Others

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck of their faith”
1Tim 1v18-19

Paul was a mighty man of God, used of God to do mighty works, he won many to Christ and discipled many people. In the midst of his success in ministry, Paul identified the greatness in Timothy. He was in no way intimidated by the talents and skills in Timothy. Paul had a vision of the full picture of the success of the ministry. He realized he could not do the work of the ministry on his own, so he was constantly looking around him for men and women who could come alongside him to lighten the load. He recognized Timothy and he knew within himself that Timothy had the ability and anointing to do the work of the ministry so he encouraged him and laid hands on him to equip him to the calling to which he was called.

We need to get over our fear of man. We never have to feel intimidated by people who are more skilled than us or skilled in a different way that we are. We have a gifting and we are loved by God. We have our part to play but there are others that God has added to us so that we can fulfill the call to which we are called. Even in our professional life, recognize the talent in others. We need to train and develop others. We need to pull out of them the real giftings they have so we can even make our market place life successful. Be a miner, bring out the talents of others. This will in no way make you any less of a talented man or woman.
