Honouring God

“Honor the LORD with your wealth And with the first fruits of all your crops (income); Then your barns will be abundantly filled And your vats will overflow with new wine.”
God is interested in our wealth, our material possessions and most of all with our hearts.
What is dearest to us needs to be placed in God’s care. This is honouring him. When we honour God with what is important to us, we will live lives that are full, and overflowing in every area of our lives. God promises to fill our barns, i.e. our resources and everything we own and our lives will be joyful and satisfying. The wine represents the richness of our lives. Each day will overflow with a new faith in God and a fresh revelation of His love for us.
We show great esteem to God when we honour him with our wealth. Where our treasure is, there our hearts will be also, so let us show great honour to our God, with our substance.
