The Blessing of the First Fruit
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Also [you shall observe] the Feast of Harvest (Weeks, Pentecost, or First Fruits), acknowledging the first fruits of your labor, of what you sow in the field. And [third] the Feast of Ingathering (Booths or Tabernacles) at the end of the year when you gather in [the fruit of] your labors from the field”
The law had a lot to say about the first fruit, however in our walk of Salvation, the grace of God has delivered us from the law so there are no specific limits or percentages required of us to bring to the house of God. In saying that, I wish to clarify this statement. The old testament said bring a 10% of your income. Jesus came to say, give your all. It is not about just giving of 10%, its about giving cheerfully from your heart. It means being so in love with Jesus that whatever you receive your first thought, is giving to the house of God. Giving in the grace of God is more than that. The love for the kingdom of God keeps your mind on the things of God so you give never considering what is left behind. You do not give out of fear, but out of love. This kind of giving ensures you are always living in the overflow, there is always a supply of finances and resources that is available to you. In this kind of giving, you experience Favour. You are able to walk into a store and always receive over and above discounts that anyone would receive, because of your financial partnership with the house of God.
I am not speaking from head knowledge, no, this is what we have experienced in our 45 years of serving the Lord. God is no man’s debtor, he will never cause you to be ashamed, he will never cause you to suffer loss. When you walk in to a place the atmosphere changes because of the presence of God in your life. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to become this kind of giver and see the benefits overflow in your life. You will get ideas from the spirit of God that will cause you to prosper and prosper those around you.
