Being a Blessing

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 1 min read

“On one occasion, Jesus was preaching to a crowd on the shore of Lake Galilee. A vast multitude of people was pushing to get close to Jesus to hear the word of God. He noticed two fishing boats at the water’s edge, with the fishermen nearby, rinsing their nets. Jesus climbed into the boat belonging to Simon Peter and said to him, “Let me use your boat. Push it off a short distance away from the shore so I can speak to the crowd.””
Luke 5v1-3

Peter was one of the disciples that Jesus relied on. He made many demands on him. Peter always complied. He gave whatever was asked of him. In this instance there was a crowd and Jesus needed to speak to them but he was unable to so he had to use Peter’s boat to go away from the shore to be effective in communicating his message to the crowd. Peter was willing. He gave his boat willingly. Not only was Peter blessed, but his obedience brought a multitude to salvation. He had become so kingdom minded that nothing more mattered than meeting the needs demanded of him by Jesus.

In our case we do not have such great demands on us as Peter had. However we are called to sow into our local church so a multitude can be won to Christ. I am willing, are you?
