Be It Unto Me According to Thy Word

What an amazing young woman. She was a young virgin girl, who was engaged to be married to Joseph. Mary was so unassuming but she loved God. One can see from her response to the angel who came to her that the word of God dwelt in her. She was a Godly and reverent young woman. The request was not all that strange to her and the consequences of her decision did not really bother her. All she knew was she was giving up of herself to the Lord for his mission. Her words were so apt “Be it unto me according to thy word”. It was an honour and a privilege for her to do the will of the Father. She did not count it as a loss for her. All she could think of was the benefits of obedience.

Giving requires obedience. It requires trust and it requires a whole lot of faith. All your resources are given to you by God. He has given you power to get wealth. All he is asking is that you love him more than you love your resources and wealth. I guess, it’s like what Jesus asked Peter. Do you love me? Everything God has given you is for you so you can keep it and enjoy it but share a little with his kingdom so his plans and purposes and can be fulfilled.
