When Faith Seems Weak, Stand Strong – Part 2

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. 12 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. 13 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the Heavenly places. 14Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.”
(Ephesians 6:10-13 – NLT)

There will be conflict and opposition in this walk of life. Paul and Peter also speak of being hindered many times by satan in their spiritual work and prayer (1 Thessalonians 2:18; 1 Peter 3:7). If this is true, then it is much more true that satan and supernatural evil spirits can and do hinder prayers.

We are to give no place to the devil – “Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]” (Ephesians 4:27 – AMP), we are to stand against the wiles of the devil and to resist the devil – “So be subject to God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you” (James 4:7 – AMP). All these facts prove that people who pray to God are to expect opposition and all kinds of hindrances to their prayers. It is foolish to accept such opposition, for it is not the will of God, not to grant what is asked of Him.
