“5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 1:7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.”
Peter’s ‘spiral of spiritual enrichment’ starts with your personal relationship with God, and gradually equips you to manifest God’s love to the world. It establishes a process that should continue throughout your life, enriching you more each day. The Message elucidates this process: So don’t lose a minute in building on what you’ve been given, complementing your basic Faith with good character, understanding, alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. Without these qualities you can’t see what’s right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books.
If you can succeed in doing this, you will live every day in the way that God expects of you. So begin to enrich your Faith according to the above scripture. Become God’s trophy of Grace!
