“And it came to pass on the seventh day, that they rose early about the dawning of the day, and compassed the city after the same manner seven times: only on that day they compassed the city seven times. 16 And it came to pass at the seventh time, when the priests blew with the trumpets, Joshua said unto the people, Shout; for the LORD hath given you the city”
To get a clear picture of what took place when Jericho was captured, we have to read the entire account in the book of Joshua 6:5-16. Here we find that both Joshua & the Israelites were consistent. Let us now consider their consistency so that we can put these vital principles to work in our lives.
a) Joshua received instructions from the Lord and when the instructions were carried out, the walls of Jericho came down. This is how the Israelites gained the Victory over their enemy. b) They won the battle because they were obedient to the instructions of the Lord. In other words, they obeyed the Lord. They remained consistent in carrying out His Word. c) And finally, they were not moved by what they saw in the Natural Realm.
To be Consistent means: Keeping to a regular pattern or style, not changing and so forth. Make up your mind that you will be consistent in your Spiritual walk and your Service to God. Don’t allow others or the devil to change your Consistency.
