A Heart After God

A heart after God means, setting aside everything that distracts and keeps our attention away from God. If we are young when we receive the Lord, the passion to serve remains for a little while and then the cares of the world seem to turn us away. We become involved in things that seem to take us away from the calling of God. We see other young people enjoying life and doing things and this seems to attract our attention. What we do not see is their motives for doing what they are doing. We only see them enjoying life but we do not even realise how empty and lonely they are. In most cases the things they are doing is to shut out the voices in their hearts that is screaming to be fulfilled. You have found Jesus so you are fulfilled and satisfied. Keep your eyes on Jesus, he is the author and finisher of your faith.

Serving the Lord, young people does not mean you will not enjoy life. You will have more and more over a long period of time. God has taken your life and He will sustain you and provide for you at every turn. A young person who is not part of the kingdom does not enjoy the protection of God so they can lose their lives at any point or face danger. You on the other hand are kept in safety under the shelter of the Lord.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress,

My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!”

(please read and study Psalm 91 and see who God is to you)

The Thriver pursues God and his heart is after God because he knows he dwells in the secret place of the Most High. He has the angels of God to take care of him and no harm or danger will come new his dwelling place.
