Understanding My Season

““For the vision is yet for the appointed [future] time It hurries toward the goal [of fulfillment]; it will not fail. Even though it delays, wait [patiently] for it, Because it will certainly come; it will not delay”
There are four seasons in the year, Autumn, winter, spring and summer. If this is true in the natural then it is also true in the spiritual. Each one of us goes through various seasons in our life. When we are young children, we have parents who take care of us and plan our lives. They are responsible for our financial affair and handle matters that only an adult can take care of. Likewise in our spiritual life, the Lord guides us, protects us and makes provision all the time for us when we are young Christians. When we pray for something, it does not take long for it to manifest. As we grow and start to listen to the word and our faith grows, we move from being children to be adults and then our faith is tested and we see various seasons in our lives that are not very comfortable to handle. At first when we are new Christians, we are excited about going to church and doing things for the Lord. As we grow, the joy of salvation seems to get cold and our faith also seems to grow weary. We find we are not as excited about serving the Lord as we were when we were young Christians. This is absolutely normal. When we are young Christians, we are still very aware of our feelings and emotions and this is what drives us in our Christian walk. However, as we grow in the Lord, there are more responsibilities and more is required of us as we have to grow from our old way of doing things and the old way of thinking to the God kind of life. What was acceptable before, there was enough grace to cover our immaturity. Now the grace is still available however the level of grace increase, so more is expected of us. We go into a season of growing.
There are tests and trials, we are challenged in our speaking and way of doing things. One of the greatest challenges is the way we treat people. The love walk is the one the Holy Spirit is most interest in. He will allow us for a season to treat people anyhow, however as time goes by, He will begin to convict you on the way you speak and the way you handle relationships. He changes the way you see things and slowly realigns your thinking and daily walk. There is an urge for you to increase your prayer life. You will get victories and live a successful live but the demand on your faith gets greater.
Embrace every season and make a decision, Holy Spirit I want to grow so I am ready for every season in my life. Grow my faith and as I abide in the vine, let the fruit of the spirit increase in my life so I am able to treat people better. This is all part of your journey as a son/daughter of God.
