Meditate on the Word

“I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word”
God’s instruction to Joshua, in Joshua 1v8, was that he should meditate on the word of God, day and night, so shall he make his way prosperous and successful. What is it about the word of God that causes your life to be successful and prosperous. The word is the breath of God that creates and brings things to life. Jesus is the word. Jesus also used words, when he healed, he would speak to the sickness, when he raised someone from the dead, he would call them forth from the dead. We are made in the image and likeness of God and we too have word power. We can speak things into being.
Hence, the need to meditate on the word of God is imperative. To communicate with out God, the easiest way is to put him in remembrance, of his word. His word is promises to his sons and daughters, that He is faithful and he will fulfill every promise made.
The psalmist in psalm 119 states that he would delight in the word of God so that he would not forget the word of God. He had meditated on the word of God and had become familiar with God through his word. He had tasted and seen that the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever. His way had become prosperous, so he was willing to make an investment in the word of God. Take the time to invest in your heart with the word of God and you too shall make your way prosperous.
