Positive Affirmation

“Sir,” Gideon replied, “if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? And where are all the miracles our ancestors told us about? Didn’t they say, ‘The LORD brought us up out of Egypt’? But now the LORD has abandoned us and handed us over to the Midianites.” JUDGES 6v11-13

Gideon was the least expected choice of leader to deliver the Israelites. He was in hiding, he was in obscurity. He had no confidence in himself and was at a total loss as to why God would use him.

“But Lord,” Gideon replied, “how can I rescue Israel? My clan is the weakest in the whole tribe of Manasseh, and I am the least in my entire family!” Judges 6 v 15

God saw Gideon differently. God saw the potential in him. God had a mission for him and God knew Gideon was equipped to handle the job.

The LORD said to him, “I will be with you. And you will destroy the Midianites as if you were fighting against one man.” Judges 6v16

God not only affirmed Gideon, He went on further to encourage him and give him the courage, letting Gideon know that it was not in his own strength that he would accomplish this task. God would be with him. God would get the glory, all Gideon had to do was trust and obey. God would give him the victory and deliver His people.

Nothing has changed. God is saying to you today. It does not matter who you think you are, God sees you as a mighty man/woman of valor. He positively affirms you. Why? He is for you and with you. He equips you and enables you for the task at hand and you will surely have victory in every situation. He will deliver you, actually He has already delivered you out of the hand of the enemy. No weapon formed against you will prosper. You are a hero in the eyes of our God.

Rise up from where you are and go forth!
