The Blessing of a Healthy Life

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones”
Prov 3v7-8

in this life, most of us focus mainly on financial prosperity and there is nothing wrong with that. When we sow seed, we reap a harvest of financial prosperity. However, there is another form of prosperity that we as believers have a right to. The prosperity in our health. We are promised a long and satisfying life. We are promised an abundant life, life to the full till it overflows. Well, think about this, do you consider a person who is about 70 years old, and suffering from chronic ailments, together with dementia etc. having a long, blessed life. In my opinion, no! God promised a long, satisfied life. This means a life free from sickness and disease. It is a promise and God will keep his promise despite ourselves.

Family of God, as you journey through this life, God has given us His Holy Spirit as our counselor and standby. There are warning signs He gives you as you walk through your journey, he will nudge you to remind you to eat healthy. He will remind you to stop being angry as anger does not work the righteousness of God. If you persist in being angry, soon you have high blood pressure and you go to God for healing. There was a warning signal given you and for some reason we fail to heed this. We opened the door to the enemy to bring in this ailment. Is it God’s fault? No, it is our decision to live life with bitterness and anger, not realizing how this affects our spirit man which impacts directly on our body. In the midst of anger there is no peace. If there is no peace, we cannot enter the rest of God.

I plead with you, take up this promise of a healthy life. Give heed to the Holy Spirit living on the inside of you. Jesus is your wisdom, He will show you how. When the holy Spirit speaks, listen. I am sure you want a healthy, long and satisfying life. You owe it to yourself and those around you. Your early exit will leave a deficit in the lives of the ones that love you.
