Honour Those in Authority

“Pay your taxes, too, for these same reasons. For government workers need to be paid. They are serving God in what they do. Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.”
Give honour to those in authority. We need to respect those people who are in office. If we have become complainers of our government and those in authority over us, we are setting up ourselves for a fall. We need to develop this art of honour. It will stop the complaining. We need to pray for our government and those in authority. When we pray for them, God will work in them to do the right things so our world is impacted positively.
Here Paul is giving the instruction, yet he suffered much at the hands of the authorities. It is not our job to criticize what we do not understand, God puts people in charge, all we have to do is pray for them so there is peace and prosperity in our land. Honour those in authority, in this way you are setting yourself up for promotion and when you are in charge, those in your care will show honour to you. Honour in your present is seed for your future.
