Anointed Purpose

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 2 min read

“Now it came about after the death of Joshua, that the sons (descendants) of Israel (Jacob) asked the LORD, “Who shall go up first for us against the Canaanites, to fight against them?” And the LORD said, “Judah shall go up [first]; behold, I have given the land into his hand.” And [the tribe of the sons of] Judah said to [the tribe of the sons of] Simeon his brother, “Come up with me into my allotted territory, so that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you into your allotted territory.” So Simeon went with him. Then Judah went up, and the LORD gave the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand, and they struck down in defeat ten thousand men at Bezek.”
Judges 1v1-5

Judah had a purpose. What was that purpose? He was instructed by God to go into the land and destroy the enemy. It was an easy instruction yet he had to yield and obey to fulfill the purpose and call of God. As he yielded and obeyed, God gave the Canaanites and Perizzites into their hands. The enemy was defeated.

Each and everyone of us were called and given a purpose. Each of us is gifted and talented in our own specific field. Some of us do not like what we are called to so we imitate others. We compare ourselves to others. Our failure to yield and obey causes destruction in our lives and we become frustrated and angry and bitter. The fault is not with God but with us. It does not only mean our leadership role in church. No! it could just be to be a good father to your children, a good husband to your wife, a good teacher to the students. When you submit to the role you are called to, God makes it easy and you find yourself flowing. Yield and obey, victory and good success is yours.
