God’s Will – Abundant Life

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”
1 Corinthians 16:2 AMP “On the first [day] of each week, let each one of you [personally] put aside something and save it up as he has prospered [in proportion to what he is given], so that no collections will need to be taken after I come.” This is similar to a farmer setting aside some of his seed to sow for the future. Paul wrote this because he was putting the church first, and he did not want to have to take up an offering when he arrives.
We must not lose our joy, even in the face of adversity. Joy is a choice we make regardless of our financial situation. “For during an ordeal of severe distress, their abundant joy and their deep poverty [together] overflowed in the wealth of their lavish generosity.” (2 Corinthians 8:2 AMP). For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, works for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
Now he that ministers seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness. 2 Corinthians 9:10 “For God, who gives seed to the farmer to plant, and later on good crops to harvest and eat, will give you more and more seed to plant and will make it grow so that you can give away more and more fruit from your harvest.” God gives seed to the sower, if we have no seed it may be because he does not see us as sowers. Remember, that God actually finds joy in seeing you Prosper.
