Prostration

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“The twenty- four Elders fell down before him and worshiped him, the Eternal Living One, and cast their crowns before the throne, singing.”
(Revelation 4:10)

The Presence of the Lord can become so tangible and real that it overwhelms you. This causes us to fall prostrate at the Lord’s feet and worship Him. Daniel’s experience, When Daniel saw a vision he had a similar experience. Daniel 10:8 “So I was left alone. When I saw this frightening vision, my strength left me, and I grew pale and weak with fright.”

John’s Experience, Revelation 1:17 “When I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead; but he laid his right hand on me and said, Don't be afraid! Though I am the First and Last.” The Experience of the Roman Soldiers, Matthew 28:4 “The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and fell into a dead faint.” Many people fall prostrate under the Power of God. This is normal and most Holy before God.

All these manifestations are scriptural. We are not to hold back and suppress these impulses. Remember that they are given to profit withal. (See 1 Corinthians 12:7). The gifts and operations of the Spirit are for the purpose of edifying the Church. All these gifts and manifestations must be motivated by love. It is also important to observe the scriptural rules governing all spiritual manifestations. You could study it so that you have scriptural insight into their operations in public worship.
