Being Intimate with God, the Father

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“And when you draw close to God, God will draw close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and let your hearts be filled with God alone to make them pure and true to him.”
James 4:8

We have been called to many things, but the most important, is to have fellowship with Him. In other words, to walk with Him, to talk to Him and discuss things with Him. 2 Peter 1:4 (NIV) “Through these He has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.”

God has not called us to have a weak relationship with Him. Some of us have just emergency meetings with Him, were, we simply wait for a crisis to develop and run to God looking for an answer. God has called us into a personal and intimate fellowship with Him and therefore this kind of relationship with God is what gives us joy. 1 John 1:3-4 “Again I say, we are telling you about what we ourselves have actually seen and heard, so that you may share the fellowship and the joys we have with the Father and with Jesus Christ His son. 4 And if you do as I say in this letter, then you, too, will be full of joy, and so will we.” Emergency praying may give us relief but fellowship and intimacy is what gives you joy.
