Principles Gor Giving No.11

“But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
PRINCIPLE NO.11: GIVE FREELY AND LIBERALLY TO THE POOR, THE NEEDY AND TO YOUR ENEMIES, EXPECTING NOTHING IN RETURN. Jesus set a standard for our giving which far exceeds the world’s concept of giving. He taught Unlimited, Liberal giving that is beyond our natural understanding. Here, Jesus was in the house of one of the chief Pharisees, who had invited Him to dinner.
The Pharisees were watching how they might find something against Jesus to condemn Him. Jesus then introduced a revolutionary new concept regarding giving. He told the man that when He prepared a banquet or dinner, NOT to invite his friends, brothers and other relatives, or His rich neighbors, but to invite the poor, crippled lame and blind.
This is an example of the unlimited, liberal giving Christ intends to exercise today. God wants you to give the way He gives. He wants your giving to exceed the world’s standard.
