The Word Stands for Ever

“The voice said, Cry. And he said, what shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever”
Isaiah prophesied that God would deliver the Israelites from exile and that their suffering would come to an end. God would liberate them and end their exile. The transience of man is emphasized here. All men are like grass; their glory is like the flowers of the field. When the breath of the Lord blows on them, they wither.
In contrast with this transience are God and His Word, which stands for ever. The message of salvation in the Word comes from God personally and the promises chronicled in His Word are constant and true. Everything written in the Bible will endure forever and you can count on every promise in the Bible.
It is interesting that scientists have questioned the Bible over the ages, while excavations have, time and again, confirmed that the Biblical facts are correct. We may not take anything away from God’s Word, nor add anything to it. The Bible is God’s letter to us. It was written through the Holy Spirit. So no matter what you face in life, begin to trust God’s Word.
