An Opportunity to Increase!

“And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, Mar 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.”
Money is a central heart issue in the Gospel. The rich young ruler (Mark 10:17) made a profession of Faith, but his money did not follow. Promises of love and discipleship to Jesus are empty until your things mean nothing compared to Him.
Consider the saying; ‘You always follow your money’ If Jesus had owned the rich man’s money, He would have possessed his heart! In Leviticus 25, the principle of the Sabbath year brought up an issue similar to the story of the rich young ruler. Simply stated, the people were told to give up something they wanted for God’s sake.
God then promised to ‘command His blessing’ so it would produce a triple harvest for three years! When will we ever learn that if we follow God’s laws of sacrifice and obedience, He is well able to speak to our circumstances with His blessing. Jesus promised His disciples, ‘No one who has left home or brothers or sisters…….. for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age’ (Mark 10:29, 30)Don’t resent sacrifice, look at it as an opportunity to increase.
