Avoid Gossip at All Cost!

“Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.”
If people gossip to you, they will gossip about you. The Bible is very clear about avoiding people that continuously gossip. As a matter of fact, you should run from those who gossip and cause division. Notice that the above scripture says to mark them and avoid them.
To mark them simply means to know who they are. Then notice it says avoid them not to think you are better than them, or talk about them. Just don’t spend a lot of time with them.
Instead, you should pray for them. The Bible is very serious about those who cause division. As a matter of fact, the Lord can’t stand it. He actually hates it and those are pretty strong words. Proverbs the 6th chapter talks about seven things the Lord hates and in verse 19, the Lord states that He hates, ‘One who sows discord among brethren’(NKJV).
I don’t know about you but I wouldn’t want to answer to the Lord for having sown discord or for having been a part of sowing strife by saying the wrong thing.
