Becoming a Friend of God!

“Friendship with God is reserved for those who reverence Him. With them alone He shares the secrets of His promises”
We become a friend of God through constant conversation. 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing”. Friendship with God doesn’t require changing what you do, but changing your attitude toward what you do. We also become a friend with God through continual mediation. Prayer allows you to speak to God, while mediation allows God to speak to you.
Through becoming completely honest with God you draw closer to him and through choosing to obey God in Faith. In James 4:8 (NLT)“Draw close to God, and God will draw close to you. Wash your hands, you sinner; purify your hearts, you hypocrites” 1 Samuel 15:22 (NCV) “What pleases the Lord more; burnt offerings and sacrifices or obedience to his voice? It is better to obey than to sacrifice”
Great opportunities may come to us once in a lifetime, but small opportunities surround us all the time. You become a friend of God through choosing to value what God values and desiring friendship with God more than anything else. In Philippians 3:10 (AMP) “For my determined purpose is that I may know Him….more strongly & more clearly”
