“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.”
Reason No. 6; Speaking in Tongues helps you walk in love and eradicates selfishness from your life. *1 Corinthians 14:4, “He that speaketh in an [unknown] tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” Your spirit prays and not your mind. Reason No. 7; The seventh reason to pray in Tongues is to give thanks to God. 1 Corinthians 14:15-17, “What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest? For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.”*
Reason No. 8; The next reason is that as you speak in Tongues you yield your Tongue to the Holy Ghost. *James 3:8, “But the tongue can no man tame; [it is] an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” Reason No. 9; as you speak in other Tongues, you are refreshed. Isaiah 28:11-12, “For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This [is] the rest [wherewith] ye may cause the weary to rest; and this [is] the refreshing: yet they would not hear.” Reason No. 10; we pray the mind of the Holy Spirit as He knows everything. Many times as we pray, the Holy Spirit prays perfectly what our mind is unaware of
