Worldly Thinking
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“the mind of the flesh [with its sinful pursuits] is actively hostile to God. It does not submit itself to God’s law, since it cannot, and those who are in the flesh [living a life that caters to sinful appetites and impulses] cannot please God”
When we speak of the word “carnal” we are speaking of the flesh, our old man before we were born again. That old man and way of thinking was crucified with Christ and we are now new creatures in Christ Jesus. The baptism in the Holy Spirit when we were born again is daily transforming our mind and way of thinking. The way the world thinks is against the way God thinks. There is a way the world does things but we who are of the kingdom of God have a new and living way. The world and its ways lead only to death. The ways of the Lord, only lead to life.
We need to constantly invite the Holy Spirit into our lives to lead our thought life, to change our thought life, to transform our thought life. We are not slaves to the world but we are free in the kingdom of God. The old flesh appetites of lust and things of the flesh are to be crucified in our lives. We need to live unto Christ. This is not possible by your own will power. We need the resurrection power, the power of the Holy Spirit to work in us to free us from the slavery of the flesh.
Anything that tries to hold us back or keep us in bondage to the way we thought before, we need to bring to God and ask the Holy Spirit to help us overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of his testimony. I would love to give an example here, but I will leave this to each individual as only you and God know what you are dealing with, so let this be a matter of personal prayer and handing over to the Lord. Freedom is yours. You are not carnal but spiritual. The things of the flesh are dead to you in Jesus, name. We do not do life, the world’s way. We are kingdom citizens.
