The Power of Thankfulness

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18

Thriving is impossible without a heart of consistent gratitude.

Thankfulness is not a feeling; it is a practice that shifts your perspective from lack to blessing.

Stop and list 10 things God has already done for you to thrive.

Gratitude is a language of love between a believer and our heavenly Father. Gratitude automatically gets the attention of God. Your heart fills with a joy that is unexplainable. The circumstance you are facing may not change, but there is a confidence that builds up on the inside of you that suddenly makes you bigger than the problem you are facing. To relish in the mode or lifestyle of thriving one has to have a heart that is consistent with gratitude.

As we fellowship with the Holy Spirit and get to know Jesus more and more, we develop the language of gratefulness, it is a sweet language that flows from the heart and rises up to our God as a perfume. Just as bad habits bring bad consequences, so too does the habit of thanksgiving bring good results, that reflect the glory of God as a result of the thanksgiving. You are transformed from thinking lack to blessing.

Keep a journal of all God has done. Start to thank him for each one. You will be surprised at how much God has done. Even if what you have asked has not come to pass, start by calling those things that be not as though they do exist. Thanksgiving speeds up the manifestation process.

Let us all indulge in the language of thanksgiving.
