Growing in Knowledge by the Word
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments. Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.”
Oh, the richness and the wonders of God’s precious word. He unveils His glory, majesty and power through his word. The word is open to those who are hungry and want to know him more and more every day. He gives us knowledge and understanding. In the book of Isaiah 11v1, we learn that the spirit of the Lord is upon us
And the Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him— The Spirit of wisdom and understanding, The Spirit of counsel and strength, The Spirit of knowledge and of the [reverential and obedient] fear of the LORD—
We have all of this available to us, we have the spirit of the Lord, we have the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength or might and also the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord. Knowledge is a powerful tool that helps us in our spiritual walk. In our natural life, our parents sent us to school to learn and it took 12 years to gain the knowledge we needed to live through this life. In the realm of the supernatural, in the kingdom where we have been given the privilege to live, we have access to God’s wisdom and knowledge. The knowledge of God grows us and informs us of everything we need to know about this God life. Without knowledge, how do we navigate through this life. We have an added advantage as believers, the spirit of counsel helps us to counsel others, the spirit of might/strength keeps us strong in the most difficult circumstances.
Knowledge helps us to make informed decisions, gives us the ability to weigh our options so we consider all the facts before we navigate through our lives and our relationships. The word is the basis of this knowledge, the holy spirit reveals the knowledge to us and His power reveals things to us.
