Grace to Seize Opportunities

Pastor Zubeda Sing · 1 min read

“Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they hurriedly brought him out of the dungeon; and when Joseph shaved himself and changed his clothes [making himself presentable], he came to Pharaoh. Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I have dreamed a dream, and there is no one who can interpret it; and I have heard it said about you that you can understand a dream and interpret it.” Joseph answered Pharaoh, “It is not in me [to interpret the dream]; God [not I] will give Pharaoh a favorable answer [through me]”
Genesis 41v14

Joseph was a dreamer and a dream interpreter. He was in jail for being falsely accused of rape. Joseph did not even consider this. When the call from Pharoah called, he was ready for the call. When he was asked to interpret the dream, Joseph answered precisely by the wisdom of God and received favour. He saw the opportunity presented to him and decided to take up the challenge. God set it up for him and he seized the opportunity.

Recognizing the opportunity and fulfilling the request opened a door for Joseph to serve Pharoah and become the 2nd ruler of the land, what an honour and what a privilege. He was set up for life. What was meant for evil, God worked for his good. The grace of God was on him to see the opportunity and prepare himself for it and then take a hold of the possibility.
