The Blessing of Understanding
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“The wise will hear and increase their learning, And the person of understanding will acquire wise counsel and the skill [to steer his course wisely and lead others to the truth]”
Understanding creates an atmosphere for acceptance. Understanding a person makes them feel safe and creates trust. A relationship based on understanding is a relationship that can stand the test of time. Understanding removes selfishness and allows both parties to communicate effectively. God understands us even though we do not always understand his workings, but in our communication with him we have this trust because we know he will never let us down.
In human relations it is necessary to let the person you are dealing with know that you understand where they are at and why they are behaving the way they are. This understanding is built over time and it takes courage, it takes faith and it takes love. The three together build a lasting friendship. Please take the time to understand people, even your work collegues, there is a reason they act the way they do. Take some time out of your busy schedule to get to know people. I am not asking that you allow yourself to be taken advantage of, no. Compassion and kindness are needed in order for you to practice understanding. You decide whether the relationship is worth investing in. I know not everyone can be trusted but let us at least give them the benefit of the doubt. The word is true. The wise increase in learning.
