“For as the human body apart from the spirit is lifeless, so faith apart from [its] works of obedience is also dead.”
(James 2:26 – AMP)

Faith is the ability given to every believer to believe the unreasonable. Everything God did, as recorded in the Bible, appears unreasonable to human reason. Here are some examples:

  1. Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-Nego were thrown into the fire but they didn’t get burned – Daniel 3:25.
  2. Abraham fathered his descendants in his old age – Genesis 17:5, and
  3. Noah built an ark – Hebrews 11:7.

In the absence of reason, faith says, Now. In the presence of faith, God acts now. Faith cannot be judged or proven in a court of law where reason rules because there are no books or codes that can judge faith. Jurisprudence judges on the basis of human reasoning and deals only with facts, tangible acts that can be proven on the basis of our five natural senses sight, smell, taste, hearing, and touch. A court of law has no room for faith.
