Calling Things That Are Not

“Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.”
Hebrews 11:3 NKJV “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed.” By faith we understand. Note that faith comes first and then understanding. To believe God with human reasoning doesn’t make sense, and it will never increase our level of faith. The enemy’s goal is to keep us within the limits of reason, as he did to Adam in the garden of Eden.
This is why, each time we seek to understand God through reason, we once again eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When I say that reason is the enemy of faith, or the supernatural, it is because I want us to understand a very important point: reason, or intellect, has its place and should be used in the physical world to make wise decisions in the natural realm.
God gave us the ability to reason for a specific purpose. Therefore, it is good to use reason within the natural realm. However, if we try using it in the spiritual realm, it will not work.
