God Loves a Cheerful Giver

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
Proverbs 3:9-10 – NIV

What is the purpose of Tithing? It is to teach us the fear of the Lord (Deuteronomy 14:22-23). God will not bless your income if you do not give Him His share: Malachi 3:9-10 “And so the awesome curse of God is cursing you, for your whole nation has been robbing me. 10 Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so that there will be food enough in My Temple; if you do, I will open up the windows of Heaven for you and pour out a Blessing so great you won't have room enough to take it in!” When you do not give unto the Lord, you are robbing Him and your income will be cursed. When you do not help the poor, you are robbing them their due.

The purpose of tithing is to also give us a way of honoring the Lord (Proverbs 3:9-10). When you honor God with your substances, He will do the same for you. When we give our tithes and offerings, we should do it gladly with an open spirit. Your offerings and tithes are your seeds of faith. Every time you give cheerfully, you are placing your money where it is needed most and it makes your giving a ministry and a form of worship. (2 Corinthians 9:12-14)
