The God of Justice!

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.”
Isaiah 61:8

Justice protects a person’s equal rights. Whether rich or poor, born or unborn, educated or illiterate, all people are made in the image of God and deserve equal protection and peace. David prayed for his son Solomon to be endowed with Justice, (Psalm 72:1).

In practical terms, this prayer was for Solomon to ‘defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy’. It meant to ‘take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death’.

The secret to obtaining Justice is instilling in people a respect for blood, ‘Precious is their blood in his sight’ (Psalm 72:14) The ‘life of the flesh is in the blood’ (Leviticus 17:11) and when we see how precious blood is to God, we will be concerned about it in man.

The ignorant, foolish man really cares nothing for the blood of another as long as it does not affect his blood! The man of wisdom can see that shedding innocent blood offends God and His sense of Justice. Stand up for innocent blood, and you are loving justice as you love the God of Justice.
