God, the Source of Hope

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.”
Romans 15:13

There is little hope to be found in the world these days-even amongst Christians. We complain about the rising inflation rate and the increase of violence. In the process, we lose hope. This should not happen, because Faith in God enables us to hope.

Hope always focuses on the future. And if you believe in Jesus, then you already know that heaven awaits you. Therefore you can continue to hope, regardless of how bad your situation seems. “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweights them all” Paul promises the congregation at Corinth (2 Cor. 4:17).

No one can choose his circumstances, but each of us can choose how to respond to our circumstances. You can decide never to lose hope. Hope works, not because it is a cheap form of religious escapism. But because it looks at reality in the light of the One who is real. It does not consider my disposition or my chances. It considers God. Your faith fills you with the joy and peace of God, and enables your hope to become increasingly stronger through the Power of the Holy Spirit.
