God Is Eternal

“I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations. Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands. They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed.”
The Psalmist of Psalm 102 is distraught and turns to the Lord for help. He pleads with God not to be aloof, but to hear his prayers. At the end of the Psalm, he is profoundly impressed by the fact that God is eternal, that although everything in creation will come to an end, God will remain. He has always existed-in the beginning He laid the foundations of the earth (v.25) and He will remain, even though all else may perish (v.26).
Those people who trust in God can find comfort in the thought that He will always remain the same and that His years will never end (v.27). There is no real permanence in the world in which we live. Everything is subject to change. Nothing looks much like it did even fifty years ago. Cities have been destroyed by earthquakes, share prices have dropped and prices have escalated.
Only God has remained the same. He is the same yesterday, today and through all eternity. God will always be there for you. His eternal arms support and carry you, just as He has supported and carried His children in the past. Of this you can be sure!
