Faith in a Nutshell!

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, [if] the prophet had bid thee [do some] great thing, wouldest thou not have done [it]? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?”
2 Kings 5:13

In Naaman we have a striking illustration of the place Faith hold’s in God’s dealing with man. Think first how intense Naaman’s desire was for healing. He would undertake a long journey and humble himself before the Prophet, who did not even come to see Him. In this intense desire for blessing, we have the mark of a strong Faith.

Secondly, He had to give up all opinions to bow to the Word that was given to Him. Faith is often held back by the thought that such a simple thing as accepting God’s Word can bring about a mighty revolution in the heart. Third, Faith submits implicitly to the Word of God: “Wash, and be clean” At first it might appear futile, but Faith proves itself in obedience. It does not only obey once or twice, but seven times. (2 Kings 5:10)

Taking hold of the simple Word, “Wash and be clean” it finds itself renewed as with the life of a little child (John 13:10). Only unbelief holds us back from the Blessings of God. So, begin to put your Faith to work and enjoy the Blessings of God.
