Power Principles for Giving No.10

“Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.”
PRINCIPLE NO.10: DON’T GIVE FOR MAN’S RECOGNITION, GIVE SECRETLY SO THAT GOD WILL REWARD YOU OPENLY. Our motives for giving to God must be right. In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus warns us that if we give with the wrong motive, to gain the recognition of others, we forfeit our reward from our Heavenly Father.
How and why you give to God is equally important as to what you give! If you give your gift with a pure motive, it will be accepted by God, and He will reward you. Your gifts to God, tithes and offerings, are Holy to God.
God wants you to give as an act of worship, from your heart of love and not from a sense of duty or obligation, or because you feel pressured into giving. (See 2 Cor 9:7) You must give to God with a heart of love. (See 1 Corinthians 13:3) When you give, God looks upon your heart. Let your heart be full of love and gratitude.
