Offense Driven Planning
Pastor Zubeda Sing · 2 min read

“Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall.”
When we are offended we are blinded to many things. We become completely absorbed in the offense and we do not see people because we can only remember that they have offended us. We constantly think about what has been done to us and how the person treated us. We feel cheated, we feel as if we have been used and abused and we never want to see the person again. Actually, when we meet someone, we repeat the matter, again and again. In this way, we are not the only ones affected but we affect those to whom we share the story. The version of the story of the offense may not be correct however we are too blinded to offense that the truth is actually hidden from us.
The bible says, the person giving their version of the story sounds justified, until the other person comes and tells all. When the second person speaks, then we see the other side of the story and realise that this was a complete misunderstanding. Is it worth it? No, because it affects our prayer life, it affects our fellowship with God. It affects our church attendance. We start to avoid church as we know that this is the only way that we can avoid seeing the party who has offended us.
We must not judge others, no be a stumbling block to others. We are not hurting the other person but we are hurting ourselves in the process. There is a quick remedy, decide in your heart to forgive them. Love overlooks an offense. Love heals relationships. Love opens the door to the blessings of God. Love drives out the stress which brings sickness and disease.
Offense is not your portion. Offense is not a parcel you should sign for in this life. Please stamp it out with your words, “return to sender”. You are on a pathway of blessing and prosperity, let nothing stop you. Offense is too expensive and it steals your joy.
