Complain or Praise – your Decision

Pastor Wesley & Yajhna Sing · 1 min read

“But about midnight when Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; suddenly there was a great earthquake, so [powerful] that the very foundations of the prison were shaken and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened. When the jailer, shaken out of sleep, saw the prison doors open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted, saying, “Do not hurt yourself, we are all here!” Then the jailer called for torches and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas, and after he brought them out [of the inner prison], he said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?””
Acts 16v25

Paul and Silas were locked up in jail because they witnessed the way of Christ to people. Actually they were in a dungeon, locked in stocks. Instead of complaining and feeling sorry for themselves, they made a decision to start praising. This praise shook the prison and the doors sprung open. What a wonder this was, the jailer was saved.

We too face many challenges and difficulties in our lives. We have a decision to make, do we complain and remain or do we praise God in the midst of challenges and be a testimony to others. You make that choice, praise and change.
