Your Seed and Biblical Economics – Part 1

“I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
When we give, our giving will produce receiving. Giving also raises the level of receiving. Anyone can receive, but being a giver puts us in a position where things can be multiplied. So then, a giver receives harvests that are multiplied. Let us look at the story of the rich young ruler, as told in Mark’s Gospel, 10:17-21 MSG, “As he went out into the street, a man came running up, greeted him with great reverence, and asked, "Good Teacher, what must I do to get eternal life?" Jesus said, "Why are you calling me good? No one is good, only God. You know the commandments: Don't murder, don't commit adultery, don't steal, don't lie, don't cheat, honor your father and mother." He said, "Teacher, I have—from my youth—kept them all!" Jesus looked him hard in the eye—and loved him! He said, "There's one thing left: Go sell whatever you own and give it to the poor. All your wealth will then be heavenly wealth. And come follow me."”
The rich young ruler could not adapt or submit to seedtime. This young rich ruler was a religious person. However, he did not want to get involved in Biblical Economics when challenged by Jesus. He went to Church and he kept the commandments, but Jesus knew that he was weak in the area of finances. Many Christians today are also weak in this area. Let this not be your position. Be strong in seedtime and harvest.
