What Drives Your Life – Part 1

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“A life devoted to things is a dead life, a stump; a God shaped life is a flourishing tree.”
(Proverbs 11:28 – MSG)

Here are the Five of the Most Common things that drive people’s lives. Guilt: They spend their entire lives running from regrets and hiding their shame. Many people are driven by guilt. Guilt driven people are manipulated by memories. They allow their past to control their future.

Example, Cain: When Cain sinned, His guilt disconnected him from the Presence of God. God said ‘You will be a restless wanderer on the earth.’ This describes most people today. They wander through life without purpose. Resentment / Anger: They hold onto hurts and never get over them. Instead of releasing their pain through forgiveness, they rehearse it over and over. Resentment driven people, ‘Clam Up’ others blow up.

They need to let go of the past. Job 5:2 MSG “The hot temper of a fool eventually kills him, the jealous anger of a simpleton does her in.” Fear meaning afraid to venture out. Playing it safe, avoiding risks and maintaining the status Quo. Their fears may be as a result of traumatic experiences, Unrealistic Expectations, Growing up in a high control home, etc. Fear is a self-imposed prison, they play it safe. They miss out on great opportunities in life. So today fight fear with the weapons of Love and Faith.
