Kingdom Leadership – Part 2

Dr RJ Sing · 2 min read

“Then the Lord said to Moses, "Summon before me seventy of the leaders of Israel; bring them to the Tabernacle, to stand there with you. I will come down and talk with you there, and I will take of the Spirit which is on you and will put it upon them also; they shall bear the burden of the people along with you, so that you will not have the task alone.”
(Numbers 11:16-17)

We as leaders have to manage our expectations of people, especially people we call staff. We are familiar with the word disappointment. Disappointment is never based on what you find, rather it is based on what you expect to find. Therefore we live between ideal realities – how things ought to be and how things really are.

The distance between these two points, determine the degree of disappointment. So, one of the key things of a leader is to learn on how to manage expectation – what you expect of the people who are under you is important. It will save you some time, energy and stress and Jesus gave us some criteria, for judging or determining.

Each one of us has to judge and determine, what space people occupy and resolve whether they need to be there or not. You have the courage to make changes. We live life on levels and we arrive in stages and as we move from one level to another level in life, we must change. Not everybody is moving in the same direction or at the same time as you are, even if they don’t understand, where they think that you have could, let it be, but to stay there, is to deprive yourself of forward movement and progression.
