You Are Set to Rule

“And Pharaoh said to Joseph, Forasmuch as [your] God has shown you all this, there is nobody as intelligent and discreet and understanding and wise as you are. 40 You shall have charge over my house, and all my people shall be governed according to your word [with reverence, submission, and obedience]. Only in matters of the throne will I be greater than you are. 41 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt.”
In and through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, you are set to rule. Now let us examine the meaning of the word, ‘Rule’. To rule means govern, reign, or to make judgment. This is awesome because God expects you to take charge wherever you are. Not by arrogance but by wisdom.
Most times Christians react in two ways. Firstly, when confronted with an issue or problems they tend to shy away or they fight in the flesh. Both these attitudes are wrong. The Lord expects you to take a stand in humility and wisdom. This means you stand up in His strength. As you function in wisdom, God then begins to promote you. With this promotion comes a greater level of influence. This is when you let the Word of God reign through you.
As with Joseph, He was a man taken from the ‘Pit’ to the ‘Palace’. He did not complain and murmur nor did he begin a side fellowship. His fellowship was with the Lord of Hosts who promoted him. Be faithful in your position now and God will take you to a higher place. How you function in your low place determines how you go to your High place.
