Giving Is Sowing (Part 1)

Dr RJ Sing · 1 min read

“But this [I say], He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, [so let him give]; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.”
2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Another aspect of giving is sowing seed. In talking about giving our money, Paul used the metaphorical figure of sowing and reaping. This analogy is taken from agriculture. Paul is however talking about the Christian and his giving to God and the Kingdom of God. Certain basic principles must be followed if you want to succeed. When we think of giving as sowing, we understand that we should expect an increase from our giving, but only in proportion to what we sow.

The degree of generosity with which he gives determines the proportionate size of the return that he will receive back. The Principle of Sowing and Reaping works! The Bible makes it very clear that the same kinds of laws that apply in agriculture also apply in the finances of the Kingdom of God. In order to experience increase in the realm of finances, you have to practice the Principle of Sowing. Only this causes you to reap.

As you begin to live your life as a bonafide sower. You will never beg for money, support or provision. Your barns will always be full.
